Do I need a ballast?
If you are upgrading your vehicle's headlights to HID or LED bulbs, you will most likely need a ballast. Ballasts are electrical devices that provide power to the headlight bulb and regulate the voltage. HID and LED bulbs draw more power and require tighter voltage regulation compared to standard halogen bulbs.
A ballast acts as an "adapter" between the vehicle's electrical system and the demands of the newer bulb types. Providing the correct amount of electricity for optimal brightness and lifespan.
