The main feature of this kit is the tension-indicating bandages. These have rectangles on them that become square when the correct tension is reached on the limb. This is important, as snake venom does not travel through the blood stream (as most people think) and cutting off the blood stream is actually worse for the patient. The correct tension must be reached to only restrict the lymphatic system and allow blood to still flow.
